1500 Watt Power Inverter
Power inverters are a very useful tool in emergency situations or whenever you need to power traditional AC powered devices with a DC power source. For example, if you lost power at your house you could use a power inverter connected to your vehicles battery to convert that power into AC. You could then run extension cords form the inverter into your home to power essential items such as lights, microwave, heaters, computer or whatever you needed. You would need to keep the vehicle running though so that the battery would stay charged. A simple power inverter is easy to find and not too expensive so it is good to have one for emergency backup power.
Power inverters come in all different sizes and put out different amounts of watts. To decide what size power converter you need you need to know how many watts each device uses that you plan on running with the converter. So if you want to run some lights that are 100 watts and a microwave that is 800 watts you should get a 1000w inverter at least. Always get one bigger than you think you need because you never know when you might need more power and wish you had gone with a larger one. A 1500w inverter is a good choice because you can run several electrical devices with it that will probably be needed during a power outage.
You also need to think about the peak surge rating of your power inverter because often appliances and things with motors will require a higher initial surge of power to start up. This is usually about double what the normal running power of the device is. So your inverter will need to be able to put out that peak surge of power to start the device or it will be useless. If you are looking into buying a power inverter you should think about what exactly it will be used for and then do some research online to find out which options are best for your purposes.
